Krishna Janmashtami
Krishna was eight son of Devaki and Vasudeva. The date of Krishna’s birthday celebrated as Krishna Janmashtami, it’s also called Krishnashtami, Gokulashtami or Janmashtmi.
According to Hindi calendar, Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated on the eight day of Krishna Paksha of the month of Bhadrapad (Aug – Sep). Hindu celerate Janmashtami by fasting and staying up until midnight, the time when krishna is believed to have been born. On the day of janmashtmi people decorates the home with some toys and create different different scenes of krishna’s lila, that ritual is called hindola decoration. In Uttar Pradesh with the Makhan Misri Prasad people makes delicious pakwans (sweets ) also on that day. At midnight, devotees gather around for devotional songs and celebrate the birth of krishna.
